The 30lb jeffHopeck bell

I must confess, I am a middle aged exercise convert. After years of being a couch potato I now can't get enough of walking, lifting and tensing those old muscles. I've tried many things in an effort to develop that perfect exercise routine..pilates, running, boxing, dancing, yoga, weight training...phew even belly dancing! My latest craze is kettlebell training! It was originally developed to keep the Russian military fit and involves a whole lot of lifting and throwing around of a solid ball of iron with a handle on it.

Having spent a little time browsing Flickr, I realised that you can find a picture of just about anything on there except maybe, I thought, a kettlebell. How wrong I was. I found 527 results for photos matching kettlebells...all shapes, all sizes, and people from all over the world throwing those lumps of iron around. There is even a Flickr kettlebell group! Not so sure I will be uploading images of me sweating over a kettlebell though.
But enough of my exercise obsession.
I was very interested in the way The National Library is using Flickr on Picture Australia. Now that I have a Flickr account I will definitely be uploading some images of our local area to the Ourtown group.
I can also see loads of possibilities for using Flickr on our library website.
